The Narendra Modi government has made big announcements for 32.41 crore generating account holders. After the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday night, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced that the Janhana scheme will no longer be closed. Along with this decision, the Cabinet raised the limit of overdraft paid on the Janhanan account to Rs. 10,000.

In addition to these two major announcements, the government has also increased the limit of free accident insurance to 2 lakh rupees on the debit card, which is available on the Janhanan Account, which opens after 28 August. So far, there was facility of taking 1 lakh rupees free accident insurance on public money account.
Age limit was 65 years to take advantage
It was also announced that now the Junk account holders will be able to take advantage of the overdraft facility till the age of 65 years. Earlier this age limit was 18 to 60 years.
So far 3 million people have taken overdraft facility on public money
Under the Janhana Yojana, so far 32.41 bank accounts have been opened in the country and Rs 81,200 have been deposited in the country. At the same time, 30 lakh account holders have availed the benefit of overdraft facility on their Junkyard account. Jaitley also said that 53 percent of the account holders of Janhana Yojana are women and 59 percent of the accounts are open in rural and semi-urban areas.
